Marina WEave

This project is part of the studio Salty Urbanism Larry Scarpa and develops from a futuristic rethinking of the Marina Del Rey, California area 100 years in its future. 

 

Marina Weave is an ecological dam that exacerbates regeneration, connection and exploration. The Weave maintains water levels, as well as rebuilds natural habitat, and provides water filtration, waste management, and biodigestion. The projects program  connects the community through the boat docks, exterior boardwalks, and interior mezzanine commercial space.

 

Additionally the project creates workspaces for scientists to explore new ways of rebuilding habitats and generate energy, creating a hub for futuristic thinking in a time of impending ecological doom.
